Nothing is ever for not.
I tell my children this nearly every single day. This is particularly so when my son or daughter utters statements such as, “I can’t,” “I don’t know how,” or my personal pet peeve statement, “I fail at that!”
Every perceived ‘failure’ is an opportunity to learn standing before you in disguise.
Well, last night, on what I perceived would be my first radio interview turned out to be an opportunity in disguise.
As directed, I called the Florida number provided by the host at the allotted time. My Skype phone would not take the number given, so I called quickly to get another one. Mistake number one.
Having no idea there would be so many other authors and public speakers recruited for the call, I was taken back when the host told me that he did not know it. “Look it up on the website and call back,” he suggested. Fair enough, he was obviously busy getting things organized on his end. After a lengthy five or ten minute scramble, I found another number and got connected. Mistake number two.
Too late, the show was airing in one minute, and new callers were being placed in a que, including me! Once the show began, I discovered the theme was not my book, or my life, or me at all… rather it was a discussion on generating publicity after self publishing. Huh. I had no idea. And while it was a very interesting discussion, I really had nothing to add to it. Generating publicity is not my concern. Generating healthy minds and attitudes about illness, pain, love, joy, and ones inner self, well, that’s more in keeping with what I had planned to discuss. I was even planning on offering a MP3 download of a guided meditation, just for those who listened in. Mistake number three.
For those of you who would like a download of this MP3 meditation, visit my fan page where you will be invited to join the Angel Thinking Book Club. All participants will automatically receive a link to this download.
After many technical difficulties on both ends, and a whole lot of unnecessary confusion, I came away from that non-existent interview much wiser.
Every perceived ‘failure’ is an opportunity to learn standing before you in disguise.
After a ton of promotion, I have connected with more hosts for pending interviews to take place in the not so distant future. I have a better understanding of the proper questions to ask, and have decided to look into hosting my own blog radio show. How does Angel Thinking with Lorelei Hill sound?
This show, when up and running will look at how meditation, faith in angels, oneself, and the divine universe has helped people to achieve personal success in their lives. With one on one (maybe two if requested by the guest) interviews, this show will focus on ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
And so I thank my blog radio host from last night for presenting me with this huge opportunity to learn. After all of the hiccups, it ended up being a wondering show. I enjoyed listening to the guests, and what I enjoyed the most was knowing that while mistakes were made on all ends, something truly wonderful came out of it for everyone involved.
In the meanwhile, check back on Jan 29 – Feb 1st to participate in my blog tour. It will be great fun, and a wonderful way of communicating with interesting new authors.

Sorry to hear that. But what a great lesson. Wondering is sometimes all you are left to do to find the answers and the confidence that’ll move you forward. Big hug.
